We'd like to share a house with nice, responsible, generally laid-back housemates. We'd like to create a household where we all feel comfortable having people over now and then.

This is a four bedroom, 4 ½ bath home on a 2.4 acre lot. Other things about the place:

We have FIOS high-speed internet and cable. Wireless internet is accessible throughout the house. The common areas include a dining room, living room, kitchen, sun room, library, and a large, open area in the basementWe are on a busy street but the house is far enough back from the road that it’s quiet.

We clean up after ourselves, and we expect others to do the same. We enjoy just plain hanging out and having interesting discussions. We enjoy reading and probably spend too much time watching TV and playing computer games. We both work for the federal government. The location of the house is not great for public transportation, although it can work if you’re heading into DC.

We have a library with thousands of books. The books are primarily science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and romance.

We work with a dog rescue group and there are lots of dogs in the house. We foster dogs and have our own—currently there are dogs in the house. The current herd ranges in size from 21 to 44 pounds and in age from 1 to 13 years. If you have a dog you and the dog may find a home here. We also have birds.

We have three rooms for rent to mature, honest people, in a drug-free, non-smoking, generally quiet house. We don't party or have loud music. The house is set up for the peace and tranquility of the housemates, which includes my wife and me – the homeowners.
